For an excellent adventure down the Sarapiqui River that’s great for beginners or families, don’t miss this adventure! The Sarapiqui River is the cleanest river in the area and provides the perfect combination of adventure and nature!

You will be accompanied by expert river guides and safety kayakers. This trip is an excellent adventure for the whole family and first-timers. The Sarapiqui River is in the province of Heredia and is a one hour and 15-minute scenic drive from La Fortuna.

The altitude difference offers unique and incredible wildlife viewing opportunities, so be sure to look out for water birds, toucans, sloths, and other rainforest inhabitants! This trip is a great way to get wet.

Upon arrival at the river, we will gear you up with a life jacket, helmet, and paddle and then brief you with a full safety orientation talk. Then it will be time to take off down the rapids!

These Class II and III rapids offer enough of an adrenaline kick to satisfy your daily requirement. Parts of the river are calm enough to go for a swim, and there is a small cliff for rafters to take a little plunge.

As with every trip, there will be one stop for locally grown, organic fruits and another stop for an authentic Costa Rican Organic lunch. You’ll also learn about the growing, harvesting, and production of chocolate, medicinal plants, fruits, and sugar cane.
